Esguerra – owner, founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Herma Group – has consistently pursued new opportunities. His dedication and leadership have transformed a modest one-barge bunkering operation into a Group of Companies recognized for its contributions to the petroleum, maritime, and environmental service sectors.
Beyond his business success, Mr. Esguerra actively engages in advocating for environmental care and protection. He is also acknowledged for his hard work and involvement in social, public, and national sectors, further solidifying his reputation as a committed and influential figure in Philippine society.
Primo R. Agbayani

Maritime Logistics and Petroleum Group
Mr. Primo R. Agbayani joined Herma Shipping Transport Corp (HSTC) in 2004 as Assistant to the President and held various senior management positions before becoming the President of HSTC for five years. He was then transferred as head of the Petroleum Supply Chain Division (PSCD) and Chief Operating Officer of Petrotrade Philippines, Inc. (PPI) from 2018 to 2021. He started his career in the petroleum industry with Petrophil Corporation, now known as Petron, from 1981 to 1990. Before joining HSTC, Mr. Agbayani was head of Distribution Department for the Consolidated Industrial Gases Incorporated, a subsidiary of the British Oxygen Gases for nine years. Currently, he is holding the position of Managing Director for both PSCD and Maritime Logistics and Petroleum Group.
Captain Emelito S. Sosa

Shipbuilding and Maritime Infrastructure Division (SBMID)
Mr. Emelito A. Sosa, a distinguished graduate of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy, Class of 1988, with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation, has had a remarkable career in the maritime industry. His academic achievements, including serving as Corps Intelligence Officer and graduating with honors, set the foundation for his journey. From a Deck Cadet scholar to a commissioned Ensign in the Philippine Navy, he played a vital role in the 1989 Mobilization as battalion N2. Transitioning from sailing on European tankers, he excelled ashore, rising from Deck Cadet to Chief Officer and later contributing significantly to Herma Shipping and Transport Corporation. Currently, as Managing Director of SBMID and concurrent Chief Operating Officer at Herma Port Terminals Inc. and Portside Industries Inc., Mr. Sosa’s extensive experience continues to shape the maritime and logistics sectors.

EJ Esguerra is the son of the Chairman and CEO, Herminio S. Esguerra. Prior his current post, he gained extensive knowledge and experience in Ship Management and Petroleum Tanker Operations covering 17 years of professional leadership experience. He is an ABS-Certified Auditor of American Bureau of Shipping after completing studies at the ABS Academy in Singapore. Currently, he manages the Environmental Division covering Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. in Cavite and Tarlac and the Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. in Leyte. Cleanway is the pioneer of comprehensive hazardous waste management. For twenty years, the company has served countless industries and medical facilities nationwide.
